Faculty passes Patriot Act resolution without dissent

In an attempt to assert their civil liberties that were granted to them by the Constitution, the faculty of the College passed without dissent in January, a resolution condemning the Patriot Act. Because the Patriot Act is quite a lengthy document, Anna Adams, Associate Professor of History, explained that their resolution is not concerned with all the different points that fall under its umbrella.

Students collect, sort and recycle campus refuse

Taking the matter into their own hands, four first-year students have broadened the recycling program in the freshman dormitories. By placing recycling receptacles throughout the dormitories and collecting and sorting the waste each week for pick up, Kim Nyugen, Chelsea Meenan, Emily Rabson and Madeline Kaplan allow their fellow students the opportunity to conveniently and properly recycle.

"Human Rights" is the subject of the Center for Ethics lecture series

In order to educate the College Community on issues relating to human rights across the globe and on the role of the United States in such issues, the Center for Ethics is sponsoring a "Spring Series on Human Rights." According to Dr. Lisa Perfetti, Acting Director of the Center for Ethics and Assistant Professor of French, "the idea came out of a course taught by two of our professors, 'Human Rights in the Americas.

In order to facilitate this, the College has entered the CLICK drive. The CLICK drive is a multi-institution contest for charity which officially begins on Feb.

Relationship coach and expert, author, lecturer and former WABC Talk radio Show host, Ellen Gootblatt spoke to a full audience of students, faculty and guests in the Miller Forum Monday night. After greeting the audience with an energetic personality, this Brooklyn native spoke about "Sex, Passion and Intimacy," "Meeting, Dating and Mating - 250 Important Questions to Ask Before You Go Further in a Relationship" and "Men Aren't Women - Understanding and Appreciating the Inherent Differences Between the Sexes.

Officials say lighter play caused fire Allentown, PA - A 13-year-old boy playing with a lighter started a fire Monday morning that destroyed a row house at 507 Jordan St., Allentown Fire Marshal David Oncay said. The teenager, a son of the homeowner, was taken into police custody at the scene.
