The last Student Body meeting of the semester took place on Tues., Mar. 18 in the Seegers Union lobby.

The meeting began with Barrie Schessler '10, Treasurer of the Student Council, who informed the Student Body of budget deadlines for clubs and organizations for next year. The budget requests will be due around mid Apr.

This was followed by updates given by each Class President. Matt Sones '08, gave information about the next Senior Pub Night (Apr. 17), Fifty Days Celebration (Apr. 2), Senior Week, and Senior Ball preparations.

Matt Fash '09, mentioned the success of the Cedar Beach Park clean up and proposed ideas for future philanthropic events. The class of 2009 also successfully sponsored Muhlenberg Idol and Mr. Muhlenberg.

Joe Armenti '10, reminded students that the class of 2010 tie dye and retro t-shirt order forms are due this Fri. He also mentioned Berg Bingo Night which will occur Sun. Mar. 30 at 8:00 p.m.

Jason Kirschenbaum '11 discussed the activities sponsored by the Freshman class which include: October Fest., Sweetest Fling, Speed Dating, and Day at the Beach.

Lisa Harrison '08, Vice President of the Student Council, followed these updates with new business. Her purpose of business was to condense and reword the current Student Council Bylaws to make them more specific and efficient. Some of these changes included policy revisions for vacancies within Student Council. Regarding the resignation policy, the wording of "Class Council Officers" was changed to "Class Presidents" in order to clear up an inconsistency within the process of resigning.

Furthermore, when electing candidates for all Class President, Class Officer, Student Body President, a majority vote of the Student Body in addition to Board of Trustees Representatives is required. Prior to this meeting the requirement consisted of Faculty/College Committee appointments instead of Board of Trustees Representatives.

Harrison also explained that the Student Council Standing Committees have been condensed to avoid confusion. The Athletic Committee and Campus of Community Affairs Committee will now be recognized under the Communications Committee. Any specific concerns from the athletic community on campus will be addressed on an individual basis.

The meeting then moved to announcements where students advertised the upcoming College Democrat events that took place on Wed., Mar. 19.
