All Campus Food Drive

Dear Campus Community,
This year not only has our economy in turmoil. In addition, the demand for food at local food banks has risen precipitously. As the article is titled, "America's Food Banks Need a Bailout," states: "... a survey conducted by Feeding America, a national hunger-relief charity (found that) of 160 food banks, 99.4 percent of them reported seeing more first-time users in 2008."
At the end of this academic semester, from the minute you read this notice to the end of finals week, the Alpha Phi Omega Community Service Fraternity is organizing an ALL CAMPUS FOOD DRIVE OF NON-PERISHABLE FOODS.
All food will go to Second Harvest, a local food bank that serves many of the smaller community food agencies. Collection boxes can be found around Seegers and in various locations around campus buildings and residence facilities.
The problem of food insecurity is increasing. Lets help, especially when people need it most!
With respect and appreciation,
Jason Steinberg, '11
